Network Access Upgrades
Stage 3 of the Network Access Upgrade program identified 19 sites throughout the ACT that required modification generally consisting of new ladders, edge protection, access hatches and providing means for emergency rescue.
BRIEF
Due to the nature of these works, all pits / access hatches have undergone a risk based prioritisation scoring based on site criticality and delivery efficiencies.
ACT Steelworks through our design partner AECOM & in collaboration with Icon Water successfully completed the design & construction of access upgrades to 19 sites within the ACT.
These works varied from roadside vehicle crash barriers along a main arterial road, access ladders within 14 metre deep sewage storage chambers or the creation of a new in ground PRV pit with our civil partner Complex Co.
This project includes improvements to 32 separate pits distributed across 19 of Icon Water’s network assets.
