Denman Bridge
Running parallel to the adjacent roadway, the Denman bridge commissioned by the ACT Government, was required to integrate seamlessly with the surrounding parklands and architecture, balancing functional infrastructure with a considered appearance.
BRIEF
Designed to support pedestrian movement across a busy footpath route, the bridge plays a key role in improving the accessibility between the Denman shopping precinct and the neighbouring green spaces.
Through careful planning and sequencing, the team achieved a fast and efficient installation, significantly reducing downtime in the area and limiting impact on pedestrian access and the surrounding environment.
A key consideration for the project was installation safety, particularly the risk of working at height. To address this, a temporary handrail structure was pre-attached to the bridge beams and then disassembled while the permanent grating and balustrade panels were installed.
The processes involved allowed for a rapid install, minimising overall disruption to the area.
